Let me start this (blog) by saying hello, netizens! My name is Ruth Esther Bermundo – a 22 year old (trying to be an independent adult) residing in Cagayan de Oro. My friends calls me “Ruth”, my close friends calls me “Tita” and my acquaintance or “social media” friends calls me Rouge (meaning they barely know my real name. HAHAHA. Joke)
SO to be honest, I’m more of a typical girl who likes to travel, eat, sleep, do make up and more. So what’s here to read? Well, I don’t really know (HAHAHA). But if you’re still interested (as I hope you are) then, keep on reading!

Good shoes takes you to good places.
Guilty! I save almost 40% of my salary for my travels and to think I don’t even make that much (not that I’m complaining or anything – it’s better than having nothing, right?) Regardless of the amount I save-spend for my travels, I make sure I have a savings I can trust when I have nothing and when emergency strikes. Also, I got myself a Life Insurance Policy (PRU LIFE UK) since I don’t have a security of tenure with my employer.
I am often asked the question “Why do I always travel?” Well, easy, because I love traveling and I save up for it (without getting broke). And I also like the feeling of excitement when I pack my bags, lay down my planned OOTD’s and get a pen and paper to jot down my “things to bring” list.
Tita Opinion: If you’re just a beginner in independent travelling (meaning you don’t depend on your parent’s money anymore), I suggest you travel in your own country. In my case – the Philippines. I have friends who travel abroad because they have the means to travel (also, they’re rich) but I don’t have anything against them.
My point is, you don’t need to get broke to impress your friends with your #travelgoals IG or FB feed. Travelling locally is actually what I’m obsessed about these days. There are hidden gems and unspoiled Islands in our country so why not start with that. PLUS, I get to experience more with my 1,000 pesos = $20. Travel local and save more!

GUILTY. GUILTY. GUILTY. I LOVE LOVE LOVE TO EAT.
So I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love to eat. We eat to live and not live to eat but sometimes it’s also the latter. I always set aside a partial of allowance for food even though I already have a food allowance set aside. BUT even if I love to eat, I make sure to keep myself fit by maintaining a balanced meal and limit the food I eat. Too much of everything is not good. Even veggies and fruits!
Now we all know eating also cost a lot. Especially when I eat at luxurious restaurants, eat-all you-can buffet or unlimited samgyupsal! (YUUUUM). But eating doesn’t mean breaking the bank. I sometimes give my stomach a rest as well as my wallet. They’ve been though so much, you know. So to help me save my money but still eat delicious food, I search easy and yummy recipe and cook at home.
Tita Opinion: When you eat at a restaurant you really like, taste and savor the food you love. Use fresh goods and simple ingredients. If you find an alternative ready-made and affordable sauce, buy it. Also, if you have a simpler and affordable dupe for meat or other food, then go for it.
AGAIN, our aim is to save and replicate as closely as possible the food we love and not duplicate it.

Beach please.
As much as I want to achieve fair, good looking skin, I couldn’t help but to exchange it for some sun burned, red nose, and face peeling skin. It sounds painful but it’s all gonna be worth it once I experience the crystal clear salt water – and by that I mean actual swimming in the beach and not just flaunting my “sexy” body with a matching bikini or one piece.
Beaches are not the only thing I’m a fan of but also swimming pools, springs, flowing rivers and falls. I’ve tried swimming in different bodies of water and to tell you honestly, each of them has a different kind of excitement and thrill to it.
Swimming is probably my sport since I’m kinda good at it (or so I believe), but other than that it helps me calm my nerves and also have fun and exercise at the same time.
Tita Opinion: If you’re going to the beach or just planning to swim, one piece is a must-have fashion statement. Not only do you show less skin but still look sexy, you can pair it with almost anything – whether it may be a cute short or top.

Top of the world.
Since 2018, I have climbed 4 or 5 times already. It’s not that much if you’re an avid climber but for someone like me, it’s A LOT. And I don’t intend to stop it. After 3 to 5 hours of trekking, when you reach the top, you will definitely feel that all of it was worth it.
Tita Opinion: Pack light but don’t fprget the necessities such as first aid kit, survival kit and fresh light clothes.

A (wo)man’s bestfriend
Disclaimer: This is actually not my dog. This is John’s dog. I just got back from Taiwan when this photo was taken which means it’s only been less than a month since Einam (my 11 yrs buddy) died.
I love dogs! I’m a dog person which is ironic because my mother hates (yes, she does) animals. But she learned to love them in the long run since she realized they can guard the house. (HAHA. User) Anyway, I never really loved dogs at first – not until I had one. He was so sweet and full of love. And that was the moment where my fond for dogs started.
I’m not a fan of cats but that doesn’t mean I hate them. I just don’t jump for joy when I see one unlike dogs. I like dogs in general,m aspins or breeded – all are the same to me. All God’s creation, no judgement.
Tita Opinion: For aspin owner’s we usually don’t bother to take our buddy’s to the vet since they don’t have breed. But they do have feelings too. *cries* They are suseptible to diseases like all other breeded dogs are. So minimize the discrimination and maximize the love. Love your furry buddies!
